WrestleMania 39 has come and gone. Now, the after-effects of the event come into play, with several great matches set for WWE’s next event, Backlash.

Backlash is on May 6 inside Coliseo de Puerto Rico Jose Miguel Agrelot in Puerto Rico. It is the first event for WWE in Puerto Rico since 2005.

The main event will be Brock Lesnar vs. Cody Rhodes. Rhodes failed to capture the Undisputed WWE Universal Title against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania. On Raw the next night, Rhodes and Lesnar were supposed to team up, but Lesnar attacked his partner. Now, they will face off for the first time.

Outside of that bout, title matches take over Backlash, along with the second-ever match of a music icon.

WWE Backlash 2023 match card

Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, and Matt Riddle vs. The Bloodline (Solo Sikoa, Jey Uso, and Jimmy Uso)

While Roman Reigns will not be at Backlash, the rest of The Bloodline will be. At WrestleMania 39, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn beat The Usos to become the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions. The feud continued, and when The Bloodline had the duo outnumbered in an attack, Matt Riddle returned to even things out.

Riddle returned following a December injury that kept him out of action, which was blamed on The Bloodline.

Per Bet Online, Owens, Zayn, and Riddle are the -300 favorites, while The Bloodline are the +200 underdogs.

Bad Bunny vs. Damian Priest in a Street Fight

Bad Bunny, a multi-time award-winning recording artist, faces The Judgement Day’s Damian Priest. The former interfered in Rey Mysterio’s match against his son Dominik at WrestleMania 39, preventing Dominik from cheating. On the Raw after WrestleMania, Priest attacked Bad Bunny, putting him through an announce table.

Bad Bunny returned a few weeks later and challenged Priest to a street fight while attacking him with a kendo stick. Priest is actually friends with Bad Bunny, as the two teamed together at WrestleMania 37 to beat The Miz and John Morrison.

Per Bet Online, Bad Bunny is the -5000 favorite, while Damian Priest is the +1000 underdog.

Bianca Belair (c) vs. Iyo Sky for the WWE RAW Women's Title

Damage CTL's Iyo Sky won a triple threat match to become the top contender for Bianca Belair's RAW Women's Title. Belair beat Bayley, the leader of Damage CTL’s, several times to retain the title.

Per Bet Online, Belair is the -800 favorite, while Sky is the +450 underdog.

Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Zelina Vega for the WWE SmackDown Women's Title

After beating Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 39, Rhea Ripley and The Judgement Day continued their feud with Rey Mysterio and the reborn Latino World Order. LWO and Legado del Fantasma member Zelina Vega, of Puerto Rican descent, challenged Ripley for the title.

Per Bet Online, Ripley is the -10000 favorite, while Vega is the +1100 underdog.

Austin Theory (c) vs. Bobby Lashley vs. Bronson Reed for the WWE United States Title

In July 2022, Bobby Lashley beat Austin Theory for the United States Title but lost it not long after facing Seth "Freakin'" Rollins. In a triple threat match in November, Theory beat Lashley and Rollins to become champion again.

A few months later, Lashley eliminated Bronson Reed to win the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. From there, the two engaged in a feud that forced Theory to get involved once Reed interfered in a match between Lashley and Theory.

Per Bet Online, Theory is the -2000 favorite to retain his title against Reed (+500) and Lashley (+700).

Seth "Freakin" Rollins vs. Omos

The match was announced out of nowhere, with fans questioning the reason. On Raw, Omos' manager MVP revealed he arranged the match, stating that a win against Rollins would be huge for Omos' career. Rollins, focused on winning the new WWE World Heavyweight Title, has promised to give Omos the best match of his career.

Per Bet Online, Rollins is the +1000 favorite, while Omos is the +500 underdog.
